Russell Brunson is one of the most recognized names/faces in the online business world and chances are you’ve already heard about one of his books or programs and want to know if you can trust him to help you make money online and that’s something I’m going to help answer.
I’m someone who has a lot of experience with both the online business world and Russell’s products and in this post will be covering:
-
- Who Russell Brunson is
- My experiences/thoughts on his products
- Whether or not he can help you succeed online
- Pros and cons
- If there are better alternatives to Russell’s products/training (in my opinion there are)
Quick background info on Russell Brunson:
Russell Brunson is a world famous online marketer who has made countless millions in the business. His main forte is helping people make money online and he has written numerous books and made several programs designed to do that. Here are some examples:
His books: Traffic Secrets, Experts Secrets, Dotcom Secrets (all paid books) and numerous free ones. The main premise behind all of these books is teaching people how to make online businesses on any topics they want and funnel traffic/people through them to make money online.
Programs: His main one is called ClickFunnels and this is basically his flag ship program. It has a 14 day trial and then is either $97/month or $297/month. It is a software program designed to help people make different kinds of business funnels to attract audiences through them to sell affiliate products, courses, or personal products you have.
My experiences with Russell Brunson:
I’ve read the 3 main books I listed above, have gone through a lot of his other free eBooks as well and have experiences with Clickfunnels but personally do not use it for my online business because in my opinion it’s a bit overrated, not ideal for beginners and is overpriced. I have an entire review on Clickfunnels explaining this.
Bottom line: Aside from his main program, I am a fan of his books/content and think he is great at showcasing the potential of building an online business and inspiring people and in.
I am a full time online businessman and I think that Russell Burnson is legitimate as are his programs, but if you’re looking to start an online business that there’s better alternatives to Russell’s programs that also teach you similar material, and offer way more value for way less too (Details below).
Pros:
- Russell Brunson is legit and so are his programs.
- Russell has a good reputation in the online space.
- There are many people who have made money with his advice/programs.
- His books in my opinion offer great value in terms of introducing people to the potential of starting an online business.
- Good customer service.
Cons:
- I believe his main program (Clickfunnels) isn’t worth getting as it’s expensive and in my opinion overrated.
- I personally think that Clickfunnels can be tough for beginners to use correctly.
- There are better programs/training in my opinion that can teach you to succeed online aside from Russells programs/books.
Do I recommend Russell Brunson and his products? Somewhat:
I have good/neutral feelings towards Russell and believe the following things:
- His paid books are awesome and I highly recommend them.
- His free ebooks are also good.
- In terms of Clickfunnels, I think it’s legit but overrated and expensive and for beginners to online businesses, there are better alternatives and you can honestly make funnels without this program anyway.
Alternatives? Yep! Why this is my #1 recommendation:
Wealthy Affiliate is the program I learned all of my online business skills from as well as the reason why I make money online full time today. In fact, this is the same program (based on what I’ve heard) that Russell Brunson got his start from too.
Wealthy Affiliate provides an across the board training on different ways to make money online but their main specialty is helping people create a profitable online business on any passion you have in life and monetizing it various ways.
So if you love mountain biking for example, they’ll show you how to create a profitable website on mountain bikes (promoting them, putting ads on the site, etc…).
Here’s why it’s better than Russell Brunson’s products in my opinion:
- It’s free to join (literally, no CC required).
- It’s very beginner friendly.
- Better on YOUR wallet ($0 to try, then $49/month).
- It teaches multiple ways to create an online business.
- It also has tons of success stories.
- Very high Trustpilot rating (4.9 out of 5 stars).
- Excellent support/help provided.
- And there’s much more.
Bottom line: You don’t have to invest crazy money with Wealthy Affiliate (or in general to succeed online).
It’s free to test drive and only $49/month (or for the best membership, $99/month) if you decide to stick around. One of the many fallacies I often run into is that because a program is expensive, it means it’s worth it. Perhaps that’s true in certain cases, but with Wealthy Affiliate, you get immense value and you can actually try it for free to see that.
My recommendation? Wealthy Affiliate (here’s how to get started):
- Join here (its free)
- Complete the Hubs set up process which has you create your first passion based website.
- Start your training
The value of the Wealthy Affiliate (WA) speaks for itself and if you have any doubt (which is totally normal), test drive them risk free (there’s literally no credit card required).
Here’s what you get when you try the program today (all included):
- Access to the Starter Membership of Wealthy Affiliate.
- Access to the Hubs platform (5 step business set up process)
- 8 lesson starter course
- Coaching from me, Vitaliy (one of WA’s top experts).
- And much more (join WA today and see it all for yourself).
The program does have 2 optional upgrades called Premium and Premium Plus after the Starter Membership that I do highly recommend, but more than that, I recommend you first:
- Try the Starter Membership (it’s risk free).
- Immerse yourself in the program so you get the most out of it.
- Use my coaching! You can contact me directly inside WA.
Wealthy Affiliate works, but it is also not a get rich quick scheme.
It will teach you how to build a REAL online business of your dreams and if you apply the training they have and work hard, you will become one of it’s MANY success stories.
And frankly speaking, I want to see you do just that. As your coach, one of my goals is to see just hat and I’ll help you along your journey there too).
Thanks for reading my review of Russell Brunson and if there are ANY questions about either program or mistakes that require corrections, feel free to mention them in the comments below!
I mean do your due dilligence as if you were buying a house or setting up a physical business.
Selling physical products in ecommerce may be better for newbies but the choice is always yours. Watch out for the cost of shopify I think it is also over priced. There are other ecommerce sites
Cheers E
I also don’t agree with Russell Brunson’s Done for you approach because google algorithms thats like the conveyor belt to the whole machine can break down so to speak and stop promoting your posts, sites e.t.c.
Another glitch those custombuilt systems can be hacked by more advanced computer technicians within the organisation so if you don’t have the right online protection’s in place users can lose either their 100% payments or their traffic which is another techie word for potentional buyers by way of losing their email sign ups.
I recommend if you are going to buy Russells programs or any done for you programs you will need to be advance in computers and techie savvy.
I recommend editing a lot of changes to any done for you systems and setting up your own domains and funnels so the program is really yours. Not only setting up white lables may be enough.
Experienced marketers know this but don’t share it.
Yes there are hundreds of thousands of rip offs online and some can be very convincing.
Think before you click that credit card an online business might be cheaper but there are many pitfalls so do your due diligence first like if you were buyina house or starting an online business.
Lol I have just written a whole new blog for you Vitaliy I just think its important to warn others of possible pitfalls so buyers and mentors are fully informed Cheers!
In saying all of this it is possible to earn an honest income online I just wish experienced marketers would be honest aand transparent because having the worldwide online market to market to is a huge asset to have and many potential buyers and becoming cautious and rightly so.
So the scammers are ruining the market for us all because no one will trust anyone selling anything online soon!
Cheers!!!
Goodluck

Yes Wealthy affiliate is a very good reputable site, but I think you should clarify with your users the pro’s and the con’s.
Its a very good site for beginners who have time to learn everything available to become a successful marketer.
Yes Wealthy Affiliate membership is affordable they have just set up an upgrade of their membership prices.
There are also problems with Wealthy Affiliate that your buyers need to be aware of:
1. Wealthy Affiliate have their own domain so if you create a website on a hosted Wealthy Affiliate = WA domain you have to keep your membership current which costs on a monthly basis. Your website will cease after a certain amount of time if you don’t continue to pay the monthly membership
However you can transfer your website to your own personal domain so if you stopped your membership your website would still be current and online if you pay for your own separate hosting,
It used to be very difficult to take your website off the Wealthy Affiliate domain because it can be technically very tricky to do especially for a newbie.
The Wealthy Affiliate main frame computer or server is technically set up to keep your website on the WA domain.
If you stay on the the WA domain and you can do that, their search engine also gets a better google ranking, so members are currently paying for the ranking that WA is gaining on google.
One other way is to set up your website on your own hosted domain and sign up with WA to learn the skills you need then, when you want to leave WA you can and your website will continue to be current if you pay for own hosting.
I think the WA domain is ugly.
2. WA members are encouraged to stay on WA by the people they are signed up under because they get an affiliate payment for you to remain.
One person I signed up under became aggressive with me so I would continue my membership that wasn’t nice. When he did that I signed out from under him. Aggression should never be tolerated.
3. The WA wesite is set up to encourage members to help each other which is good but also can be a very timely hindrance because beginners can get caught up in helping others just to raise their level within the WA website. It operates like an award system.
WA encourages and their emphasis is about participation on their website theres a question and answer room that beginners can get distracted on so just chatting if they are so inclined therefore new members may have to continue their paid membership longer.
Time is money peeps as we all know. When Members would be better off to be focussed on creating their own online business after all thats why members sign up in the beginning to learn to make money online.
Yes Click funnels is very expensive and there are other more inexpensive funnels available to use but are they as good I’m not so sure?
So if Newbies want to sign up with WA under your link here I think its best to also outline all the pros and cons of WA particularly if they are beginners online.
Some people who are mentors on WA are too busy or just don’t share everything with beginners that I think is a mistake.
Online marketers need to be transparent in how they market online.
WA is full of informational and step by step short videos and members are encouraged to interract with either the WA website or other members after every single video which can mean more distraction and time wasting meaning members pay more for their time to be distracted.
If you have ADHD then get some medication bro if you want to sign up with WA you will need it.
4. WA is full of helpful people but are they experts, are they sharing the correct advice?
5. WA can be mistaken as a social site with a difference ingenous concept I know. The owners encourage you to interract with others.
6. Beginners should be aware of any pitfalls when signing up to anything online so they can prepare to mitigate meaning lessen the loss.
All in all both sites have their uniqueness, ie pros and cons about their businesses. Thats what I mean about Marketers being transparent.
The same mentor wanted me to do every video step by step which means yes you got it more time and money spent paying for the monthly subscription.
He did this even though I told him I have already a lot of experience online.
7. Hi Vitaliy no offence yes you make $5000 per month but can you even compare to Russell Brunson who’s net worth is $37M currently.
Lastly its your choice peeps who you could follow but they are both very reputable businesses and are worth taking something from each to ensure you become skilled and rich.
I prefer to hire someone to do the work and thats called outsourcing there again you have to know who you are hiring and how much you tell them about your business and whether or not they can actually do want you want them to do.
To all beginners please beware there are a lot of marketers who are scammers out there and they are the ones that ruin it for the more genuine people like myself and possibly Vitaliy here on our worldwide marketplace. I encourage you all to report any to the online authorties.
Best of luck E
I need to ask a few questions about your services.
Sure ask away Isiah!
