Wealthy Affiliate Review (No Holds Barred, The Honest Truth)

For 10+ years I’ve reviewed 100s of make money online programs and to this day, Wealthy Affiliate still remains my top choice for many reasons that I’ll talk about in this review which will showcase:

  • My personal income reports
  • Other member success stories
  • How the program works
  • And everything else you need to know

The quick overview:

  • Name: Wealthy Affiliate
  • Owners: Kyle and Carson
  • Pricing: $0 Starter membership (join here), Premium ($49/month), Premium Plus ($99/month)
  • What do you learn? How to make profitable websites on your hobbies/passions in life (and more)
  • Success stories? Yes, more than any other program (details below)
  • Rating: 100 out of 100 points

Do I recommend Wealthy Affiliate? Yes:

The program is free to join so you can check it out for yourself but the bottom line is that it works and has more success stories than any other program I’ve seen/tried/reviewed. Here’s some of that proof (more below):

However: it does require time and effort on your part to get these types of results. It is not a get rich quick scheme. The good news though is that this program provides you with all the guidance, tools and help along the way, but that’s something I’ll cover below in more detail. First I want to cover my personal history with this program.

My personal Wealthy Affiliate success story:

I’ve been with this program for over 16 years now. I joined it all the way back in 2007 (while I was in college). My intent at the time was to use Wealthy Affiliate to pay for school. Little did I know at the time that this would end up becoming my full time career.

My results with the program initially took time to get going, mostly because I was so occupied with life/school that I just didn’t have the time/ambition to put into action what it taught.

Once I did (years after joining), my success started to slowly grow. In fact besides the income reports you see to the right, I’ve documented most of my yearly earnings over the past 10+ years that I’ve attained thanks to the Wealthy Affiliate training:

  • 2014, 2015: $30,000+ earned
  • 2016: $74,000
  • 2017: $60,000+
  • 2018: $65,000+
  • 2019: $66,000+
  • 2020: $76,000+
  • 2021: $80,000+
  • 2022: $93,000+
  • 2023: $148,000+

Having been a member for 16+ years now I’ve experienced the program’s growth, evolution and updates. At the same time my life has transformed in ways I never could have imagined when I started:

  • I live debt free (no college debt, no cc debt)
  • I get to travel when I want
  • I live financially free
  • I get to choose how/when I work
  • And this is all possible for you as well if you follow what they teach

Summary of the program:

The Wealthy Affiliate program teaches people how to build profitable websites on any hobbies/passions they have in life. For example if you love mountain biking, cooking, pet care, fitness, ect…, they’ll help you set up a website, grow it, get visitors to it and earn money from it.

Here’s a personal example of that:

I’ve built multiple websites over the years on different topics I love through Wealthy Affiliate and one of my most successful ones is a nature website that in 2023 earned me a decent income:

This website got around 1 million visitors in 2023 and basically made almost 100% of it’s money on ads that I ran on the site. The results speak for themselves:

Other things Wealthy Affiliate teaches:

On top of the main model of building profitale passion based websites, the program also provides you with training on other things including:

  • Affiliate marketing
  • Social media marketing
  • YouTube monetization
  • Pay per click advertising (PPC)
  • Selling/flipping websites (digital real estate)
  • Local marketing
  • And much more

Overall the program provides a number of different online business skillsets. For beginners, it is recommended to start with the main training that goes over building your first passion based website and then as it grows, to get into the other models taught.

How much does Wealthy Affiliate cost to join?

There are 3 memberships available to members:

  1. Starter (free, no CC required): You get to make your first passion based website, several lessons of core training, guidance (join here).
  2. Premium ($49/month): Unlocks ALL core training (40+ lessons), free domain/hosting, AI writer credits and 24-7 community access/expert help.
  3. Premium Plus ($99/month): All Premium benefits + expert classes, 2x the AI credits and much more.

Which one should you start with? My personal advice is to try the Starter membership first because it’s free to join (no risk). After that if you want to upgrade, you can decide on what’s comfortable for you but the Starter membership will help you explore the Wealthy Affiliate program, see it’s benefits and then decide if you want to stick around or not.

Pros:

  • Free to join (no CC required)
  • Beginner friendly training
  • 4.9 out of 5 star rating on Trustpilot (500+ reviews)
  • No hidden costs/upsells
  • 2.6 million member community
  • More success stories than any other program
  • Training, expert guidance, tools included
  • WA has been in business for 18+ years (since 2005)
  • Excellent help/support provided (including by the owners of the program too)

Cons:

  • You can’t make money with the free Starter Membership
  • This is not a get rich quick scheme (you gotta put in the time/effort)
  • No guarantees (results obviously vary)

More Wealthy Affiliate success stories:

These are the public success stories. There are also a lot of private ones as well. These members put in the work, did the training and it’s why they are getting the results.

My final thoughts on Wealthy Affiliate:

For me and many others, Wealthy Affiliate is easily the top choice if you’re looking to make money online and build a legitimate online business. Yes it takes time and effort, but that’s the nature of the business and from where I personally was in 2007 when I joined to where I am today is a night/day difference.

At the very least I highly recommend trying out the the Starter Membership which is free to get your feet wet with the WA program and then see if you want to stick around or not.

How to get started:

  1. Join here (its free)
  2. Complete the set up process which has you create your first passion based website
  3. Start your training
  4. Bonus: Get my coaching included (I’ll contact you inside WA once you join)

And that concludes this Wealthy Affiliate review! I hope it was helpful and if you have any questions, feel free to let me know below!

  1. Vitaliy: I’ve re read through your review quite thoroughly. I can’t figure out what Wealthy Affiliate can do for me! Your “sell” fails to describe how your “passion” site makes $150k a year. Enlighten me. Dave

    • Hi David, so here’s a simple example of looking at it:

      (1) I make a site on a topic I love (like making money online)
      (2) I get 10,000 visitors a month to the site
      (3) I make 50 sales a month promoting Wealthy Affiliate ($100 a sale)
      (4) I earn $5,000 a month
      (5) Yearly I earn $60,000

Let me know if you have any questions. This is essentially the core of what the program teaches, but you can promote anything you want, including Wealthy Affiliate or something else.

  2. I’ve spent many hours on this idea and every time I completely check a company out it turns out to be a scam. I’ve read all your info but I’m getting very annoyed at spending all this time and getting nowhere. I would like to believe you but absolutely all of your types of companies have a wonderful story to tell

  3. Vitaliy,

I got burned by InfinitiAI. I paid the $47 (discounted). I received a call introducing me to the system by a Jonathon Banks. We had a 30 conversation and he informed me that I would receive an email from one the mentors to set up a session. Never received and email. I call several times to the customer service dept and all they gave me was other phone numbers to call. I did not get any help and one of the phone numbers given to me is now blocked. I am intrigued with what you are offering.
    Thank you

  4. This is probably the best review I’ve ever read. Not only did you give an honest review on what got me here in the first plane, you offered an alternative business with complete information regarding costs, what it takes to make money, and best of all, no B.S. about only so many spots open so hurry now push. Actually, the best part is getting to check out WA for free, no CC required. I will definitely bring checking this out! Thank you for such an honest review.
