Samcart Review – Is it Legit or a Total Scam?

This review of Samcart is going to explain what you need to know before you try it, including:

  1. If it’s really a scam or if it’s legitimate.
  2. How it really works.
  3. The pros and cons.
  4. How much you can expect to spend if you buy it.
  5. And if there’s better alternatives (in my opinion, there is a BETTER option, but more on that later).

Quick overview:

  • Name: Samcart.
  • Owner: Brian Moran.
  • Pricing: 14 day trial, then one of 4 plans: $39, $79, $159 (all monthly) or a customizable plan. Other outside costs like paid ads could exceed $1,000s.
  • What is it? A customizable checkout cart that helps you promote an online course or product and make money online.
  • Is it a scam? No, but there are mixed reviews and I also there’s better alternatives
  • Rating: 40 out of 100 points

Do I recommend Sam Cart? Not really:

I do believe that Samcart has good value and can help your online business grow, but there are several issues in my opinion:

  1. The reviews are mixed (details below).
  2. I don’t believe it’s good for beginners (online courses/eCommerce is a bit advanced)
  3. On top of spending for Samcart, you also need to consider paid ad costs to market your course/eStore which can be $100s, $1,000s and even more (not good for people tight on money).

Bottom line: I am a full time online businessman and I think that Samcart is legitimate, but I also think that there’s better alternatives to it that aren’t just WAY cheaper, but also teach similar type of material and more.

Better alternatives? Yes (More info on that below).

Back to the Samcart review:

According to several sources, Samcart is a customizable checkout cart people can use to grow their online business sales, including for things like:

  • Online courses
  • eCommerce products they sell

One of the ways Samcart helps you do this is through being able to customize your checkout cart in a way that makes it easier to convince customers to buy, such as:

  • Adding incentives (upsells)
  • Reports and email integration is also provided
  • A courses program
  • And more (source)

Pros:

  1. Samcart is legit in my opinion.
  2. 14 day trial available.
  3. Several affordable pricing options provided.
  4. Samcart does have success stories.
  5. Reviews are decent/positive according to the following places: Source 1, Source 2, Source 3.

Cons:

  1. Numerous negative Samcart reviews on the following places: Source 1, Source 2, Source 3.
  2. Most of the negative reviews above alledge the same claims: Poor customer support, overcharging, refund issues.
  3. While Samcart can help with sales, promoting your online business is a whole other story which typically involves using paid ads to do so and that can cost $100s, $1000s or more.
  4. If you are a beginner/tight on money, I believe there are better alternatives.

My final thoughts on Samcart and better alternatives:

As someone who currently makes money online full time, has reviewed 100s of make money online programs and understands that pretty much any popular program comes with it’s own controversies, I air on the side of Samcart being legitimate (and also because I know of this business model and that it works).

However in these situations, I have to look at the objective things and analyze if the program is worth buying and in Samcart’s case I believe that there’s better alternatives for the following reasons:

  1. Too many reviews of this program were not very high based on Trustpilot (which is concerning).
  2. Samcart may be legit, but it’s NOT the only factor to online busines success. Among other things, paid ads are another big factor to consider and if you’re a beginner/tight on money, I think there’s better options to build an online business.
  3. If you have online business experience and success, then I honestly don’t even think a program like Samcart is necessary. You can make simple checkout carts and promote your program without it successfully in my opinion.

Alternatives? Yep! Why the Wealthy Affiliate program (WA) is my top choice:

If you’re new to online business or tight on money in general, then a great way to get your feet wet in this business and learn the right fundamentals is to get training from a proven to work program that has a great reputation, many success stories and for that Wealthy Affiliate is my top choice.

Wealthy Affiliate is the program I learned all of my online business skills from as well as the reason why I make money online full time today.

Their main specialty is helping people create a profitable website on any passions you have in life and monetizing it various ways (blogging, paid ads, YouTube, etc…).

So if you love mountain biking for example, they’ll show you how to create a profitable website on mountain bikes (promoting them, putting ads on the site, etc…).

Here’s why it’s better than Samcart in my opinion:

  1. It’s also free to join (literally, no CC required).
  2. It’s very beginner friendly.
  3. Better on YOUR wallet ($0 to try, then $49/month).
  4. It teaches multiple ways to create an online business.
  5. It has more success stories than Samcart.
  6. Very high Trustpilot rating (4.9 out of 5 stars).
  7. Excellent support including expert coaching.
  8. And there’s much more.

Bottom line: You don’t have to invest crazy money with Wealthy Affiliate (or in general to succeed online).

It’s free to test drive and only $49/month (or for the best membership, $99/month) if you decide to stick around. One of the many fallacies I often run into is that because a program is expensive, it means it’s worth it. Perhaps that’s true in certain cases, but with Wealthy Affiliate, you get immense value and you can actually try it for free to see that.

Here’s a side by side comparison of Wealthy Affiliate vs Samcart:

My recommendation? Wealthy Affiliate (here’s how to get started):

  1. Join here (its free)
  2. Complete the set up process which has you create your first passion based website.
  3. Start your training

The value of the Wealthy Affiliate (WA) speaks for itself and if you have any doubt (which is totally normal), test drive them risk free (there’s literally no credit card required).

Here’s what you get when you try the program today (all included):

  • Access to the Starter Membership of Wealthy Affiliate.
  • Access to the Hubs platform (5 step business set up process)
  • 8 lesson starter course
  • Coaching from me, Vitaliy (one of WA’s top experts).
  • And much more (join WA today and see it all for yourself).

The program does have 2 optional upgrades called Premium and Premium Plus after the Starter Membership that I do highly recommend, but more than that, I recommend you first:

  • Try the Starter Membership (it’s risk free).
  • Immerse yourself in the program so you get the most out of it.
  • Use my coaching! You can contact me directly inside WA.

Wealthy Affiliate works, but it is also not a get rich quick scheme.

It will teach you how to build a REAL online business of your dreams and if you apply the training they have and work hard, you will become one of it’s MANY success stories.

And frankly speaking, I want to see you do just that. As your coach, one of my goals is to see just hat and I’ll help you along your journey there too).

Thanks for reading my review of Samcart and if there are ANY questions about either program or mistakes that require corrections, feel free to mention them in the comments below!

  1. Hello; Marketing—online, affiliate and otherwise—leaves me cold. I have a unique niche series in the massively saturated ‘guitar instruction’ market that I wish to promote (and am considering SamCart; thanks for the review.).

Can Wealthy Affiliate be purposed for developing and selling our own products and maybe scale if that first product is successful?

    • Hi William, the answer is yes. Normally Wealthy Affiliate teaches people to do affiliate marketing, but in your case you can substitute your course as the promotion vs an affiliate marketing promo.

Basically, they’d teach you to make a website for your guitar topic, then get traffic to it via free methods like blogging and YouTube videos, and you can lead people to your site/course promotion. They do also have a premium plus membership offer which teaches you about using paid ads, which is another way to go to promote your course, but if you are short on money, then the main training in Wealthy Affiliate is where I’d start with.

With Sam Cart, you’d still need to use paid ads, plus pay for the checkout cart to use it but with Wealthy Affiliate, you have more options in my opinion.

  2. For 2-3 years I have often thought of promoting other businesses and products. That is what I really LOVE doing!

However I dont know didly squat about the logistics of this business. Do I need a separate website for each product / person I promote? How much funds and energy will I need to invest and promote on social media?

    • Hey RC, so what you are talking about is actually affiliate marketing and that’s exactly what the Wealthy Affiliate teaches you.

Regarding your question about websites and products, basically the way it works is like this:

      1) You create 1 website focused on a specific topic which we call a niche topic.
      2) You promote products on that site but products that relate to the niche (example: Niche site is about camping, and the products you promote is camping gear).

If you wanted to promote other products in different topics, then you would need a different site for that. Hope this helps!

  3. I totally agree with you. I got sucked into SamCart approx 3 months ago and to date, I have not made a sale! I’m about ready to throw in the towel. I’m a total beginner and there was no customer service help, no one to talk too, only via email.
I’m definitely out! Not wasting any more money!

    • Hi Kathleen, it’s not the Sam Cart program but lack of fundamentals in knowing how to use it properly that’s key. I do wish they marketed differently in certain aspects, but I think you would stand to benefit A LOT from the Wealthy Affiliate program. It’s VERY beginner friendly and WILL teach you those fundamentals and if you decide to later use Sam Cart in the future, you can (but you will also know how to operate your business without it too if you want).
