Is Project Thunderbolt Legit? What You Need to Know:

In this review of Project Thunderbolt, I’m going to cover the most important things you need to know regarding the program, including:

If it’s really a scam or if it’s legitimate.
How it really works.
The pros and cons.
How much you can expect to spend if you buy it.
And if there’s better alternatives (in my opinion, there is a BETTER option, but more on that later).

The quick overview:

Name: Project Thunderbolt.
Owners: Steve Clayton + Aidan Booth.
Pricing: $1,997 or 3 payments of $797 (Ad costs on top).
What is it? CPA affiliate marketing course mostly.
Scam? No, it’s legitimate.
Rating: 40 out of 100 points.

Do I recommend Project Thunderbolt? Not really:

Project Thunderbolt and CPA marketing is legitimate and I have confidence in the course, but there are 3 issues I personally see with it:

First, the price for the actual course is in my opinion extremely high.
Second, to make this work, you need to run ads. That can cost $100’s and $1,000’s extra if you don’t profit from them.
Third, if you are a beginner or tight on money in general, there are better ways/courses to learn this and affiliate marketing overall in my opinion.

Better alternatives? Yes (More info on that below).

Back to the Project Thunderbolt review:

Summary of the program:

There are 8 parts to the program which encapsulate the art of making money online through what is known as “CPA affiliate marketing”. CPA in this case stands for cost per action and what you basically learn is how to promote different affiliate offers that revolve around getting people to take a certain action so you get paid. For example:

You learn how to funnel traffic to offers you are promoting (CPA offers) and whenever the person enters an email, signs up for a free trial or peforms a specific action, you get paid a commission.

Typically CPA offers pay way less than normal affiliate commissions ($1 or so) but on the flip side, CPA offers usually are easier to promote than regular affiliate marketing products because there is more simplicity in the action itself and no risk involved, thus the person is more incentivized to complete the offer (considering they aren’t suspicious that it’s a scam or something).

The method by which you learn to generate traffic is through paid ads (according to 1 source) and while that works to get fast traffic, there is a tradeoff and higher risk involved (financially speaking).

Overall, the course in Project Thunderbolt covers this indepth and you are also provided coaching and help along the way.

Pros:

I believe Project Thunderbolt is legitimate.
CPA marketing is also legitimate and potentially profitable.
Success stories exist.

Cons:

In my opinion, the course is too expensive.
Paid ads are also another high cost on top of the course ($100s and even $1,000s could be spent).
I don’t believe paid ads are beginner friendly (from my experience).
If you have little money to invest in the course, I would be very careful (no guarantees).

For some reason (at least for me), the official homepage only loads up the header (no other info provided).

My final thoughts on Project Thunderbolt:

Honetly, I like the program and have confidence in it’s teachings. But the 2 biggest factors to me not recommending this course (yet) is:

The price itself (nearly $2,000).
Paid ads themselves being another potentially high investment ($100s and $1,000s).

I use paid ads (and do affiliate marketing for a living) and this is how I know how much they can cost as well as the risks/rewards. I also strongly advise against using paid ads if you’re a beginner or tight on money to begin with.

A lot of times, people who engage in this method of marketing have a sense that the profits will pay for themselves even if they don’t have the money to invest in this and that can get you into financial trouble.

Furthermore, from what I’ve seen, the only real topic covered is CPA marketing, which will good on it’s own is one of many branches of affiliate marketing out there and for a pricey course like this, I would love to have seen more offered (and ideally for way less).

Alternatives? Yep! Why the Wealthy Affiliate (WA) program is my top choice:

Wealthy Affiliate is similar to Project Thunderbolt in that it’s also an affiliate marketing training program and you can use it to market CPA offers.

But what they mainly teach people is making profitable websites on topics/passions they have in life and making money that way (later on there is more advanced training taught like paid ads and more).

You first learn to get free traffic to your site, make money that way and later invest the earnings into more advanced strategies. This is far better if you have little money to start with.

Here’s additional reasons why I think Wealthy Affiliate is superior to Project Thunderbolt:

It’s more beginner friendly.

It teaches multiple forms of affiliate marketing (CPA included).
It has more success stories than Project Thunderbolt.

You get the best support including expert coaching.
More value offered across the board for your membership.
And there’s much more.

Bottom line: You don’t have to invest $1,000s with Wealthy Affiliate (or in general to succeed online).

Now the truth is the method which Wealthy Affiliate teaches (making profitable sites and getting free traffic) takes longer to see results with because of the nature of free traffic, but it’s safer on your wallet as well. It also takes time to build an online business, but this is the program that’ll show you how it’s done.
