Commission Hero Review – Is it Legit or a Total Scam?

This review of Commission Hero is going to explain what you need to know before you try it, including:

  1. If it’s really a scam or if it’s legitimate.
  2. How it really works.
  3. The pros and cons.
  4. How much you can expect to spend if you buy it.
  5. And if there’s better alternatives (in my opinion, there is a BETTER option, but more on that later).

The quick overview:

  • Name: Commission Hero
  • Owner: Robby Blanchard
  • Pricing: $997 (plus $1,000s in upsells and other costs according to sources)
  • What do you learn? Doing affiliate marketing through Facebook ads.
  • Is it a scam? No, it’s legitimate but has objective things to consider.
  • Rating: 45 out of 100 points.

Do I recommend Commission Hero? Somewhat:

I do believe that Commission Hero has good value and can teach you to make money online, but there are several issues in my opinion:

  1. The reviews are very mixed (details below).
  2. $997 for learning Facebook Ads is a bit much in my opinion.
  3. Several sources also say that there’s additional upsells that can reach as high as $10,000 (info below)
  4. I wish this program taught more than just 1 type of approach to affiliate marketing.

Bottom line: I am a full time affiliate marketer and I think that Commission Hero is legitimate, but I also think that there’s better alternatives to it that aren’t just WAY cheaper, but also teach similar type of material and more.

Better alternatives? Yes (More info on that below).

Back to the Commission Hero review:

Summary of the program:

According to several sources, Commission Hero is a program made by Robby Blanchard, a top affiliate for Clickbank. The program mainly focuses on helping you promote Clickbank products through Facebook Ads. Other sources I’ve found also say there is training on Snapchat ads.

You get 12 modules of training from pretty much all angles in this regard, all to help you promote Clickbank and other promotions from places like Maxweb and A4D effectively (source).

How much does it cost?

The base program is $997 (or $597 via 2 payments) but according to at least 1 source there are additional costs and upsells:

  • ClickFunnels at $97/month
  • ClickMagick at $27/month
  • GetResponse at $15/month
  • Inner Circle (club) upsell of $200+/month
  • There is also a comment I found that says they got upsells for $2,000, $10k for private training and even a $20,000 upsell (source).

Another thing to consider is the costs for ads themselves. This can really vary but in my experience you’d need a few $100 a month to run Facebook Ads.

Pros:

  1. Robby Blanchard is indeed a real person with real success.
  2. Commission Hero teaches a very straight forward way to do affiliate marketing.
  3. There is good training on Facebook Ads
  4. There are success stories
  5. At least 1 source has mostly positive reviews of this program

Cons:

  1. The program is very expensive in my opinion ($997).
  2. According to above sources, there are upsells whose costs range from $100s to $10,000+ (source).
  3. Teaches a very limited way to do affiliate marketing
  4. Facebook Ads is known to shut down accounts so you need to be careful
  5. There are many numerous mixed reviews on Commission Hero (source 1, source 2) and here’s a screenshot:

My final thoughts on Commission Hero and better alternatives:

As someone who does affiliate marketing full time, has reviewed 100s of make money online programs and understands that pretty much any popular program comes with it’s own controversies, I air on the side of Commission Hero being legitimate (and also because I know of this business model and that it works. However I am also not discrediting the numerous poor reviews I saw online of it.

In these situations, I have to look at the objective things and analyze if the program is worth buying and in Commission Hero’s case, I think it is a legitimate program that has good value, but also honestly believe that there’s better alternatives for the following reasons:

  1. $997 to basically learn Facebook Ads is too much in my opinion
  2. There’s additional upsells that can reach $1,000s and even $10,000s according to the above sources
  3. Focusing on Facebook Ads to make money online is risky because if your account gets shut down, what do you do then? I wish this program taught more methods that people can rely on.

Alternatives? Yep! Why the Wealthy Affiliate program is my top choice:

Wealthy Affiliate is the program I learned all of my affiliate marketing skills from as well as the reason why I make money online full time today.

Their main specialty is helping people create a profitable website on any passions you have in life and monetizing it mainly through affiliate marketing and other methods.

So if you love mountain biking for example, they’ll show you how to create a profitable website on mountain bikes (promoting them, putting ads on the site, etc…).

Here’s why it’s better than Commission Hero in my opinion:

  1. It’s free to join (literally, no CC required).
  2. It’s very beginner friendly.
  3. Better on YOUR wallet ($0 to try, then $49/month).
  4. It teaches multiple ways to do affiliate marketing
  5. It has much more success stories than Commission Hero.
  6. High Trustpilot reviews (4.9 out of 5 stars, 500+ reviews).
  7. Excellent support and expert coaching included.
  8. And there’s much more.

Bottom line: You don’t have to invest crazy money with Wealthy Affiliate (or in general to succeed online).

It’s free to test drive and only $49/month (or for the best membership, $99/month) if you decide to stick around. One of the many fallacies I often run into is that because a program is expensive, it means it’s worth it. Perhaps that’s true in certain cases, but with Wealthy Affiliate, you get immense value and you can actually try it for free to see that.

Wealthy Affiliate vs Commission Hero:

My recommendation? Wealthy Affiliate (here’s how to get started):

  1. Join here (its free)
  2. Complete the set up process which has you create your first passion based website.
  3. Start your training

The value of the Wealthy Affiliate (WA) speaks for itself and if you have any doubt (which is totally normal), test drive them risk free (there’s literally no credit card required).

Here’s what you get when you try the program today (all included):

  • Access to the Starter Membership of Wealthy Affiliate.
  • Access to an online business set up blueprint
  • Starter course
  • Coaching from me, Vitaliy (one of WA’s top experts).
  • And much more (join WA today and see it all for yourself).

The program does have 2 optional upgrades called Premium and Premium Plus after the Starter Membership that I do highly recommend, but more than that, I recommend you first:

  • Try the Starter Membership (it’s risk free).
  • Immerse yourself in the program so you get the most out of it.
  • Use my coaching! You can contact me directly inside WA.

Wealthy Affiliate works, but it is also not a get rich quick scheme.

It will teach you how to build a REAL online business of your dreams and if you apply the training they have and work hard, you will become one of it’s MANY success stories.

And frankly speaking, I want to see you do just that. As your coach, one of my goals is to see just hat and I’ll help you along your journey there too).

Thanks for reading my review of Commission Hero and if there are ANY questions about either program or mistakes that require corrections, feel free to mention them in the comments below!

  1. Hi Vitaliy
thank you for NOT making us watch a two hour “webinar” aka sales pitch. We are interested but would like to know if you there is a potential to earn more than $5 (as per the note under your picture). We need to at least replace my husband’s income as he was recently made redundant. Also – what are the TRUE expenses to get something set up that would be profitable. So many of these programs promise the world but then just charge the world! I know you say there is no upfront for the trial, but we need to decide whether an online business is even viable for us – we must earn $7.5k US at least every month, just to cover our living expenses. Thanks so much, Kate Gould

    • Hi Kate, so about the picture and my earnings, it’s $5,000 a month but it varies and sometimes I’ll make more/less. But for your question on $7,500/month, yes it’s possible in online business and the training in Wealthy Affiliate can help with that. Obviously there’s no guarantees, but the program does work for people who work hard and apply it’s principals. You get all the tools, training and help along the way and there’s many people in the program who do exceptionally better than me even. Let me know if you have any further questions!

  2. Hello Vitaliy,

Thanks for the great tips of Wealthy Affiliate. Just one question, does Wealthy Affiliate has click funnels in it?

    Thanks,
    Victor

    • Hi Victor, Wealthy Affiliate does not have Clickfunnels. Lots of programs like to sneak that into their upsells when you buy their main product as a way of making more money for themselves while making you think you need that too.

In my opinion, Clickfunnels is not necessary at all and you can make beautiful funnels (that convert) with free and inexpensive tools and the skills to do all of that is taught inside the WA program. Let me now if you have any further questions 🙂
